How to Setup Your POP3 Email
with Outlook Express

1. Most email clients follow the same basic setup. Terminology may differ from client to client.

2. For Outlook Express you would click Tools->Accounts->Add Account to get your dialog box. Select Mail. Click add and you will be prompted to enter your name for the email account. Follow the steps as show in the diagram below.

3. Your servers are:
POP: mail.yourdomain.tld
SMTP (sending): mail.yourdomain.tld

4. Your account name has to be enter in full e.g. email@yourdomain.tld

5. Finish with the wizard.

6. Click on the account you just created, Tools->Accounts and selct the new account you just created, then select properties. Then click on the Servers tag.

7.Setting up authentication: After clicking on the My Server Requires Authentication button, you will have two choices

a) Username/password the same as account or

b) You can fill in the username and password.

I prefer using the first as I always check my email before sending out.

8. Click ok and done.
